Lake Nasser is a huge artificial lake that extends from southern Egypt to northern Sudan. The lake came into existence due to the construction of the Aswan Dam between 1958 and 1970. The larger portion of the lake is called as Lake Nasser that lies in Egypt while in Sudan it is called Lake Nubia. The 550 km long and 35 km wide lake is spread over a total surface area of 5250 sq km and has the storage capacity of 157 km cube.
Tania is a four star luxury-liner built according to Lloyd's specifications. The ship measures56 m in length, 9 m in breadth, 1.8 m in draft. It has a 2X380 horsepower engine and generator as well as a generator by Caterpillar for backup. There is also a radar and short wave radio.
Tania features 28 passenger cabins including 24 double, 2 single and 2 suites. All the partitions are fire resistant and soundproof. Each cabin has a large window for the outside view and is equipped with individually controlled air-conditioning, color television, closed circuit video, music system, international direct dial telephone, mini bar/fridge, hairdryer and attached bathroom.
The restaurant of the Tania is large enough to accommodate all the guests in one sitting. The lounge is spacious with a well stocked bar where you can relax in the company of alcoholic beverages. There is also a two-level sundeck with swimming pool and the pool bar at the lower deck. The other amenities at the hotel include reception, pier, laundry service, fax service and a gift shop.
