Till 1968, Sharm el Sheikh was a small fishing hamlet and for the first time put on the Spanish map in 1972. Over the years, this city has become of the finest and most frequented beach resorts of Egypt. Sharm el Sheikh consists of three main areas, namely, old town of Sharm el Maya and its bay, Al Hadaba and number of other bays such as Na'ama Bay, Garden Bay, Tiger Bay, Sharks Bay, and Nabq Bay.
